When I got this, I thought I might give it as a gift. Now that I received it, I'm keeping it for myself! :) This spoon is just so darned pretty. I love the swirls in the natural olive wood. I also love that the spoon has a corner, which is very helpful for scraping and getting out bits the rounded edge can't. I'm always a bit skeptical about woods and what may be applied to them but everything about this appears to be food-grade and they even recommend you season it with food-grade olive oil when needed. I don't see any coatings or sealants that would be unhealthful. I'm really impressed by this spoon and can't want to see it sitting in my utensil caddy!

This is an extra beautiful cooking spoon, perfect for stirring a pot and getting down into the very corners to loosen stuff up. It comes to a real point on one side of the bowl, while the other side is rounded as usual. at 12 inches in length it is deep enough for any pot a home chef would typically use. The olive wood this is made if is very hard and clearly durable, and has a smooth finish and beautiful and interesting grain. The handle won't snap and I can't imagine it ever forming splinters. I expect to enjoy using this quality spoon for many years. This spoon will also match other Oliviko olive wood products, of which they seem to have an extensive range.

These spoon has quickly become my favorite in the kitchen. First it is just plain gorgeous. The patterning is so unique and beautiful, such a lovely departure from the standard boring bamboo spoons. It is thick and strong feeling without being so thick it is uncomfortable in the hand and the length and design are both perfect for all types of tasks. I really like the straight inner edge to the spoon that allows you to get into corners of the pot and scrape, it is perfect for de glazing a pan. Between the quality of its construction combines with how phenomenal it looks in my utensil holder, I feel it is absolutely worth its price point and a great value. I am confident it will hold up for a long time and help me lake many a delicious meal. Five stars!
