These are a nice change from regular metal or plastic kitchen tongs. The olive wood makes them look much nicer on the table, so they work especially well for serving salad or pasta when you have people over. The scissor-style handle is easy to use and the 11.5-inch length feels comfortable without being oversized. I also like that the wooden ends are gentler on serving bowls than all-metal tongs. Functional, but definitely prettier than most kitchen utensils.
I’ve always wanted a pair of tongs that were gentle on the food. When you make baked items and other highly curated foods, sharp metal ends on tongs condemned the product. The best chefs and bakers want something softer and more gentle. I had heard that olive wood was ideal for this because it was firm enough to grasp and had natural nonstick properties to it, but was soft enough to be compliant with the food underneath. These tongs are excellent and ideal for my needs. Each of the olive wood tips are exquisitely, polished and shaped so that they can cut the food gently but firmly. The mechanical metal pieces and the hinge appear well designed and robust enough to survive years of use. But it is those olive wood ends that really set this apart. You can tell that they were crafted with care and respect for the wood itself. I recommended.
I vastly prefer wooden tool surfaces to metal or silicone, so when I saw these olive wood tongs were available I snapped them up immediately. My one regret is that I won't be able to use them on the grill because I'm afraid I'd burn them and they are far too nice to risk that way! Oh, and they're too short for most people to grill with but my friends and family insist my hands must be made of asbestos because I'm constantly sticking them in fire so. . . . . . . yeah. I'm more worried about the tongs. These tongs can be used in any kind of pan without scratching it up, which makes me happy because my brother in law, bless his heart, loves to use tongs when cooking and did not understand that my pans shouldn't have METAL tongs used in them. Guess who bought new pans this year and explained the facts of life to someone? To be fair he's never been around REALLY GOOD kitchenware. He knows better now and hasn't hurt any of the new stuff. He likes the new tongs quite a lot too and treats them very kindly which I appreciate. The tongs have a nice lock, also olive wood, at the top end so that they don't take up as much space stored in a drawer. I hang mine so that's less of an issue here.I recommend oiling the olive wood with olive oil once a month or so before washing to prevent it from drying out. If you do that (with any wooden tools) they'll last you a lot longer. I love these for salad and pasta.
I bought these because my current tongs have gotten a little old. I think they're over 10 years old and I just was really needing some new tongs. These looked great and I was wanting them to be able to flip meat and stuff like that. When they arrived I was really excited. I loved the way they looked and the craftsmanship of making them seems really good. I love the way the wood looks and feels on the ends of the tongs and I was so excited to use them.I have found that when flipping me like steaks or pork chops because of the way that the outside of the tongs are slightly curved it makes it a little hard to get under the meat on the frying pan to flip it and I'm thinking perhaps I bought the wrong tongs and these are meant for something else. Perhaps salads. However they do work for flipping me. It just takes a little bit more skill and practice to do it right. They are easy to wipe up and clean up and they look great even after having used them multiple times. My favorite feature is the way that they lock and unlock and it's a little metal pin on the very top of them. So in order to unlock them, all you have to do is turn them upside down and kind of push them on the counter and unlocked ready to use and then when you're ready to walk them again, you just push that little metal pin down. It's a great design.
What attracted me to these tongs was the combination of olive wood and stainless steel. The olive wood adds warmth and visual interest, and each side has its own natural grain pattern. They feel more like a utensil designed to be seen on the table rather than something meant to stay hidden in a drawer. The 11.5-inch size, scissor-style grip, and locking ring make them comfortable to use. The handles provide good control, and the overall design feels balanced in hand. I also like that the olive wood ends are secured to the stainless steel frame with visible fasteners rather than just appearing glued on. The locking ring keeps them neatly closed for storage when not in use. They seem best suited for salads, pasta, vegetables, and other table-side serving tasks rather than jobs that require a heavier-duty kitchen tool. For everyday meals, they function well and have a more distinctive look than typical all-metal tongs. In my experience, they have been practical to use and add a little more warmth to the table without sacrificing functionality.
These tongs are both practical and beautiful. The olive wood handles give them a unique, high-end look, making them perfect for serving food when entertaining guests. They feel sturdy in your hand and have a comfortable grip that makes it easy to pick up everything from salad and pasta to vegetables and appetizers. The scissor-style design provides good control, and the stainless steel construction feels durable and well made. I also appreciate that they are attractive enough to leave out on a serving table without looking like ordinary kitchen utensils. Overall, these are a great combination of style and functionality. If you're looking for serving tongs that work well and add a touch of elegance to your table, these are an excellent choice.
I purchased the OLIVIKO Olive Wood & Stainless Steel Kitchen Tongs as a specialized culinary upgrade for my wife, who takes immense pride in orchestrating beautifully curated family dinners and upscale social gatherings. Traditional serving utensils are frequently an afterthought in kitchen design, often consisting of plain, industrial-looking metal claws or flimsy plastic clamps that completely disrupt the visual harmony of a thoughtfully set dining table. When I unboxed this 11.5-inch scissor-grip tool, my wife immediately remarked on how incredibly elegant it looks resting alongside our primary dinnerware. She normally uses this gorgeous set for serving fresh, multi-layered salads during our evening meals, and she explicitly told me that she is thoroughly satisfied with this product; it brings an unparalleled level of organic warmth and refined sophistication to our table service. Let’s talk about the breathtaking execution of the authentic Mediterranean olive wood paddle heads, which serve as the primary artistic and functional centerpiece of these high-end serving tongs. Many mass-produced wooden utensils feature flat, uninspired grains and dull finishes that look entirely artificial and scratch under light usage. OLIVIKO has completely shattered that low-quality standard by selecting premium wood pieces that showcase rich, undulating patterns and deep amber tonal contrasts that are entirely unique to each individual paddle. The surfaces are polished to a completely smooth, velvet-like finish that actively repels staining from balsamic vinegars or heavy oils, ensuring the organic material maintains its pristine, gallery-quality allure across high-frequency dinner hosting. Turning our gaze toward the exceptional architectural integration of the heavy-duty stainless steel scissor frame, the mechanical stability engineered into the pivoting joints handles food distribution with absolute fluid grace. A notorious problem with conventional spring-loaded tongs is that they require continuous, exhausting hand pressure to hold a single item, or they warp sideways under the weight of dense food portions, causing items to slip back onto the platter. This classic scissor-grip layout utilizes a perfectly balanced center rivet that eliminates all lateral instability, allowing the wide wooden heads to remain perfectly flush with one another. This structural precision allows my wife to cradle large mounds of loose greens, heavy tomatoes, and delicate toppings smoothly and securely without a single piece straying off course. Regarding the immaculate ergonomic loop handle configuration and the overall weight distribution of the 11.5-inch chassis, the physical comfort profile is masterfully tailored to encourage effortless guest interaction. Trying to navigate a crowded salad bowl with an undersized, poorly balanced utility fork can quickly turn into a highly frustrating, spill-prone nuisance that leaves a mess on expensive fabric tablecloths. This generous length keeps the user's hands cleanly elevated away from dressings and heat zones while maintaining an incredibly featherweight feel in the hand. The contoured finger loops distribute squeezing pressure evenly across the palm, providing an intuitive, non-slip hold that allows anyone from small children to elderly family members to serve themselves completely unburdened by wrist strain. Shifting our focus to the outstanding multi-scenario serving versatility of this elegant design, the functional value of the tool extends beautifully into a wide array of entertainment environments far beyond basic salad tossing. For anyone who prioritizes a highly disciplined, upscale presentation when entertaining friends, a single serving utensil must be adaptive enough to transition seamlessly between diverse culinary textures. The specialized curvature of the olive wood paddles makes them exceptionally adept at lifting long strands of pasta, securely gripping roasted vegetables, and elegantly arranging delicate appetizers on a charcuterie board. This wide-ranging utility proves that top-tier kitchen hardware can easily step out of the cooking zone and perform as a stunning standalone decoration on an executive banquet table. Delving into the effortless, low-maintenance post-dinner cleanup dynamics and the long-term material resilience of the combined alloy and timber framework, the factory craftsmanship promises exceptional wear longevity. For a family juggling a fast-paced personal schedule, high-end tableware must be durable enough to survive constant contact with acidic ingredients without corroding along the metal lines or splitting along the grain. Because the non-porous stainless steel and oiled wood naturally resist absorbing stubborn food odors, clearing away residual dressing or grease requires nothing more than a swift, gentle rinse under a warm kitchen faucet with mild soap. The tongs air-dry completely within a matter of minutes without leaving behind cloudy water st...
We use regular size and mini tongs daily. They are great for everything from pasta to pickles and chips. What makes these tongs great, besides how nice they look, are that they are made from olivewood and can be used for any surfaced pan without scratching them. They have a pull lock at the top to reduce space while storing, which is also made from olivewood. These are regular-sized tongs, not mini and not grilling length, but they are long enough if you are frying, to keep your hands away from oil spitting. These tongs currently range from $22.99 to $28.99. They look nice, are made from good quality material, and perform well.
These serving tongs are undeniably attractive and would look right at home on the dining table for a dinner spread or salad station. The olive wood ends give a warm, natural appearance, and each end has its own unique grain pattern which makes it feel handcrafted. The scalloped ends are also well suited for serving lighter items like salads, pasta, or bread. They grip decently, and look very elegant overall! While the appearance is nice, the stainless steel frame of the tongs doesn't feel as substantial as I expected. The metal has a slightly lighter, less firm feel than higher end kitchen utensils. But it's been holding up well for indoor use! Just be cautious and if you're planning to use these on the grill for a proper BBQ since they'll likely leave you wanting. The tongs are comfortable to use and the locking ring is a thoughtful touch, but even that that can be pretty flimsy and become easy to press open unintentionally. So because of how these are made, I view these primarily as serving tongs rather than a heavy duty set for use as a cooking tool. They're a great fit for salads and lighter dishes! But don't plan to use them for grilling, barbecue, or handling any heavier cuts of meat. They look very nice overall, and do a decent job of combining style with functionality, but they're not going to become an all purpose cooking tong!
These tongs are nice; here are a few highlights:
• Olive wood handles with a durable stainless steel frame
• You need to actively pull the handles apart to open them which is a bit of a pain when cooking for a long period of time
• Hand wash only
• The length of these are decent. They are long enough to keep my hands away from heat, while still maintaining control.
• The scalloped edges are wonderful for salads and flipping light items.
• These perform poorly when it comes to barbecue though. The edges are not defined enough for flipping barbecue. They are also not heavy duty enough to pick up heavy meat.
• These tongs are beautiful, do a wonderful job making yummy salads, and flipping light items, but that is where it ends.
